RAF Lakenheath "Quick Climb Friday"

July 26th, 2024

Unrestricted climbs at RAF Lakenheath are a highlight of the weekly "Quick Climb Friday" events, where F-15 and F-35 pilots perform rapid ascents immediately after takeoff. These unrestricted climbs allow the aircraft to ascend at a steep angle, showcasing their power and agility.

Below photos capture the breathtaking maneuvers of the 48th Fighter Wing during these events. Pilots take off and quickly transition into a high-angle climb, which is both a test of their aircraft's performance and a thrilling spectacle for photographers.

The 48th Fighter Wing, stationed at RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom, is a prominent component of the United States Air Force. Known as the "Liberty Wing," it operates under the command of the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE).
